My name is Falu.
This is Dip.
And we're going to teach you a song called "Dholida."
Dholida means "a dhol player."
And this instrument is called a dhol.
And, Dip, can you please demonstrate?
♪♪ This song is 5,000 years old.
It's called a garba.
People come together, sing and dance and play together.
First, let's learn the pronunciation of the chorus.
It's only one word.
Just repeat after me.
Dole-ee-dah.
Let's learn the melody of this chorus.
It's only one word -- dholida.
I'll sing and you repeat.
♪ Hey That was great!
Now, let's put it all together and you sing with me.
♪ Hey Great!
Now, I'm going to teach you a dance that goes with this song.
It's called garba dance and you're going to clap with me.
Three claps.
The first clap goes above your eye.
The second clap goes around your mouth.
And the third one goes below your shoulder, like that.
The other side, now.
Above your eye, around the mouth, and down below your shoulder.
Let's try it again.
1, 2, 3.
1, 2, 3.
1, 2, 3.
1, 2, and 3.
And now, we will start it and do it with the rhythm.
♪♪ ♪♪ Now, I'm going to teach you how to do the footwork accompanying the claps and learn the dance.
So, there are four steps total in the foot, three steps going forward and one step going behind, and this is how it sounds and looks.
1, 2, 3.
And back.
One step forward, second step forward, third step forward, fourth step behind.
One step forward, second step forward, third step forward, fourth step behind.
1, 2, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, and 4.
Now, let's do it with the rhythm.
♪♪ ♪♪ Now, we're going to put the hands and foot together with rhythm!
