So have you thought of someone you'd like to compliment but not quite sure how to start?
One way to begin is to think of something specific, positive and true you want to say to the person, and then decide how you want to deliver your message.
You could tell them in person, give them a call, or if you don't feel as comfortable saying it to them out loud, consider writing it down.
I love making and writing cards.
That way, the person you're giving it to can look at your compliment over and over again long after you've given it.
So how about we make a heart-shaped compliment card like this?
You will need two different colors of paper or cardstock, some glue, scissors, and something to use to write your compliment down.
Begin by folding the piece of paper that you want to use for the heart in half.
On the seam, draw half a heart like this.
♪♪ Cut along the outline and fold it open.
♪♪ Look at that.
You have a heart.
Next, cut it in half and put it aside.
Take your other colored piece of paper and cut out a strip about an inch thick.
Oh, no.
Looks like I forgot a ruler.
That's okay.
It doesn't need to be exactly an inch.
If I use the length from my first joint to the tip of my index finger, that's about an inch, and you can always do the same.
♪♪ Now take the strip of paper and fold in the sides like this.
And this.
♪♪ ♪♪ Next, glue one side and then the other side, attaching it to the back of the heart.
♪♪ Let it dry and voilà, you have your very own compliment card.
I think I'll make this one for my friend Melinda.
"Thank you for being so generous and splitting your last cookie with me.
XO Zing."
Perfect.
Enjoy your last few activities.
