Amid a surge in COVID-19 infections, the city is using technology to help target testing.

When the pandemic hit, the city of Chicago found there was a significant information gap when trying to collect race and ethnicity data. A call was put out and DePaul University came up with a program that has narrowed the “unknown” race data gap in COVID-19 tests from 47% to 11%.
