Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi faced some headwinds from Chicago commercial building owners and trade union representatives, but he was able to fight off challenger Kari Steele, winning 53% of the vote. In November – he will go head-to-head against Libertarian candidate Nico Tsatsoulis.
